Filming is set to begin in London in a couple of months time, with the film being released some time around May 2018. ~Abbie HOOKED ON A FEELING! BABY GROOT! NYCC had a record attendance of over 180,000 people this year! New York Comic Con started on the 6th October and concluded yesterday on the 9th October. So today I am going to recap some of my favourite moments, and some other news, not necessarily from comic con! Here is a list of what I will be covering: MARVEL: THE WASP- Evangenline Lily who portrays Hope Van Dyne/The Wasp in the Marvel Cinematic Universe announced that even though she won't be in Avengers: Infinity War, she will appear in the untitled Avengers 4 movie. Here is what she had to say: "I'm excited because it's essentially going to be, um, the origin of the Wasp. Of course, we're going to see the Wasp for the first time take on the mantle, and put on the suit, and fly about and do her thing. Following that one, there's an Avengers series coming out, I believe its a two parter, and, um, the Wasp won't be in the first part, she'll be in the second part because they want to preserve that reveal for Ant-Man and the Wasp." It was also announced that Ant-Man animated shorts will be coming to Disney XD next year, that will feature both Ant-Man and the Wasp. Ant-Man will be voiced by Josh Keaton (known for Voltron: Legendary Defender, Transformers Prime), and the Wasp will be voiced by Melissa Rauch (known for playing Bernadette on the Big Bang Theory). IRON FIST- Iron Fist is set for release on Netflix on 17th March 2017, and the first series will contain 13 episodes. Finn Jones will be playing the lead role of Danny Rand. For some more information click this link: https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/1930630/iron-fist-netflix-cast/ You can check out the trailer for Iron Fist below: And whilst we are talking about Iron Fist, we can also mention Marvel's The Defenders. They cast came together and surprised everyone, but one of the biggest suprises was the announcement of the villain the Defenders will be going up against. The name of the villain is yet to be announced, but we know that they will be played by Sigourney Weaver. (Probably best known for her role in the Alien franchise, and in Ghostbusters). The Defenders will be an eight episode mini-series that will bring together Netflix's four main Marvel series - Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Daredevil. It will premiere some time in 2017, but few cast or plot details have been announced. And finally, it has officially been announced that The Punisher Netflix series is also in production. Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as the Punisher, and Daredevil star Deborah Ann Woll will also feature in it. For more information click this link: http://www.denofgeek.com/us/tv/the-punisher/252053/the-punisher-netflix-series-officially-in-production-adds-daredevil-supporting-cast AGENT CARTER- It was announced that Hayley Atwell would be returning as the much loved Agent Peggy Carter, in the animated series Marvel's Avengers: Secret Wars - which is the new title for the 4th season of Avengers Assemble, which changed to Ultron Revolution for season 3. In the episode past an present will collide as Peggy Carter and Howard Stark team up with Captain America and Iron Man to stop Kang the Conqueror. AGENTS OF SHIELD- Here are some of the highlights from the Agents of SHIELD panel and press room;
SPIDER-MAN- The animated series Ultimate Spider-Man will conclude in June with a two part finale featuring the Sinister Six. Following that Disney XD will debut the new series Marvel's Spider-Man. This series has been described as taking it back to basics - it will focus on Peter Parker and start from the beginning. FUNKO- Marvel and Funko have collaborated to create three brand new animated shorts that will be released later in the year. The animated short Spellbound featuring Spider-Man and Iron Man facing off against the trickster Loki and his mind-controlling sceptre. The other two shorts include Chimichangas featuring Deadpool facing off against Venom, and Rescue where Rocket breaks into the Collector's museum to try and set his friend, Groot, free. HULK- And the last piece of our Marvel news is about the animated Marvel feature length film Marvel's Hulk: Where Monsters Dwell, which will feature Doctor Strange. To see a clip, look below! It will be available for digital download on October 21st. Just in time for Halloween... DC: JUSTICE LEAGUE- I have quite a few things to tell you about the upcoming Justice League film. Most of them are just some short little anecdotes, so without further a do, Jason Momoa granted us with some clips of him in the Justice League gym. It looks like they had a love/hate relationship... To watch the videos click here: http://comicbook.com/2016/10/09/jason-momoa-says-goodbye-to-justice-league-gym/ Next we caught a glimpse of Superman in Justice League. It was unsure as to whether Superman would be appearing in the film due to the events which occurred in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. But in this screen shot shown below we can see Henry Cavill alongside Zach Snyder. For some more information on that, here is another link for you: http://comicbook.com/2016/10/07/first-look-at-superman-in-justice-league/ Down below you can also see some lovely little gifs of the cast. I do particularly like the Aquaman one! GOTHAM- It's not really news about the show, but, oh well! David Mazouz who plays Bruce Wayne in Gotham brought his dog along to the Gotham panel at NYCC and it was amazing. His dog was dressed up as Robin! What I can tell you about season 3 of Gotham is that it will tell us about the criminal organisation known as The Court of Owls... CONSTANTINE- Matt Ryan will be the voice of John Constantine in the animated movie Justice League Dark. He was asked at the panel if he would ever return to Arrow, in reply he said that this is the first time he has been free in awhile, but in this crazy ride of acting, he's learned not to rule anything out. In terms of an Arrow return, he said he is open to it as "I love the character". Here is a clip of Justice League Dark: THE FLASH- Concept artist Andy Poon released concept art of Black Siren (played by Katie Cassidy), and it's pretty awesome. To see the picture which he posted on instagram here is a link: https://www.instagram.com/p/BLO3yjHhAoj/?taken-by=andypoondesign And to just see his instagram, here is another link: https://www.instagram.com/andypoondesign/ His artwork is really cool, so here are some other examples of his concept art for characters in the Flash. STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE- A load of Star Wars Rogue One books were announced at the panel at NYCC, so if you are interested in seeing which books are coming out, and what their covers are going to look like, have a look at the link below: http://www.starwars.com/news/rogue-one-and-star-wars-40th-publishing-programs-revealed And just in case you want to watch the awesome trailer again and again... Here you go: Not long to go now! STAR WARS REBELS- Truthfully, I'm a bit behind on Star Wars Rebels (I'm still on season 2), but to keep you guys updated I entered spoiler territory to see if there was any news. I'm sooooo nice to you guys sometimes, even though there is still no one here... Anyway, it looks like young Wedge Antilles has joined the rebellion... AHSOKA TANO- Ahsoka's getting a book! It comes out tomorrow. It tells the story between when she left the Jedi Order near the end of the Clone Wars, and her reappearance in Star Wars Rebels. And if you get the audiobook version, it is narrated by Ahsoka herself, Ashley Eckstein! Ashley Eckstein is also the creator of Her Universe, and they have just released a geeky Halloween clothing line: http://www.heruniverse.com/ DOCTOR WHO: In the Doctor Who Christmas special this year, the Doctor will be teaming up with a comic book superhero called Doctor Mysterio! The episode will be called The Return of Doctor Mysterio. It is a 60 minute episode, written by Stephen Moffat, and with it being a Christmas special and all, it will be broadcast on Christmas day. Doctor Mysterio will be played by Justin Chatwin (known for his role in Orphan Black). Matt Lucas will also appear in this episode. Moffat said: "I've always loved superheroes and this Christmas Doctor Who dives into that world. My favourite superhero is Clark Kent. Not Superman, Clark Kent." http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-37591556 POWER RANGERS: Check out the trailer for the new Power Rangers movie! COSPLAY: And so my final highlight from NYCC 2016 is of course, the cosplay. There were so many great costumes, so here are some I have chosen for you to look at :) Sorry for the long post, and thanks for sticking with me till the bitter end! GEEK ON! ~Abbie It has been announced that the next Wolverine film will be called Logan. Keeping it simple I see! Check out the poster for the upcoming film below:
